Activities

We run a number of regular events, and our regional officers attend exhibitions, give talks and provide information about what we do and our services. We try particularly hard to reach people who are isolated and have little access to information on deaf awareness issues, equipment, services and benefits. 

Our activites include:

  • giving talks and demonstrations of equipment to lipreading classes and local hard of hearing clubs
  • working with local authorities, audiologists and hearing therapists to improve services for deaf and hard of hearing people
  • attending exhibitions and events
  • working with health professionals to increase awareness of the communication needs of deaf and hard of hearing people.

We are also members of the Greater Manchester Deaf Community Gateway Partnership. Together we are creating an online source of links to deaf community information (external link, opens new browser window).
