Brian Symington, Northern Ireland Director, Claire Lavery Communications and Campaigns Manager, James Bailey, Interpreter Development Officer and Alan McClure, Employment, Training and Skills Service (ETSS) Northern Ireland Manager, met with Sir Reg Empey MLA MP, Minister for Employment and Learning on Wednesday 27 February.

Our delegation lobbied the Minister on the need for urgent action in bringing forward a funding package to increase the number of qualified sign language interpreters and deaf tutors in Northern Ireland.

We also discussed access to employment, training and volunteering for deaf and hard of hearing people in partnership with ETSS.
