In Northern Ireland we provide a range of information services to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafened or have tinnitus, and to their family, friends and colleagues.
Our information officers provide free, confidential and impartial information on a wide range of subjects including equipment, hearing aids, communication and tinnitus. We are happy to provide information using the telephone, textphone, fax, email and letter, or face-to-face, as well as providing leaflets and factsheets.
We also have an outreach information service. We can arrange presentations, exhibitions and other activities free of charge throughout Northern Ireland.
Through the information team, RNID Products offers a range of equipment for deaf, hard of hearing and deafened people and those who have tinnitus. Equipment such as amplified telephones, alerting devices, personal listening devices and textphones are available for demonstration and loan from Wilton House or at outreach events throughout Northern Ireland.
Our Hearing Aid Volunteer Project is an exciting project working with Health and Social Services Trusts and audiology clinics within Northern Ireland. The project aims to support people who have recently been prescribed a hearing aid, using highly trained and committed volunteers to offer them practical help and information about making the most of their new aid. The project has been made possible by funding from the Lottery.
