You could wait 99 weeks for an audiology appointment.
Scotland audiology waiting times have finally been made public and show that in some areas people are waiting as long as 99 weeks.
After campaigning and lobbying, the figures were finally released because of the Freedom of Information (FOI) act. Conservative health spokesperson, Dr Nanette Milne MSP, made a request to every NHS board asking them to make their waiting times available to the public.
The Scottish Executive has agreed to publish the full waiting times figures by June 2007. But they still have not agreed to reduce the waiting times to the 18-week target that is used for other NHS services in Scotland. The target is still 26 weeks.
We need your help to make sure that they reduce the target to 18 weeks. Have you had to wait longer than 18 weeks for a hearing test? If so email the campaigns team or complete the online enquiry form to tell us your story.
See the table below to find out how long the waiting times are in your area.
