Scottish Parliament swearing in of MSPs on 9 May 2007
The swearing in of Members will start at approximately 9.30am and last until about 12.15pm. The viewing of the oath taking will be open to members of the public. The swearing in will be split into 3 sessions to make it as open and accessible as possible.
The sessions will be 9.30am - 10.15am, 10.30am - 11.15am and 11.30am - 1215pm. The swearing in will start with the Party Leaders and proceed with the other Members in alphabetical order, split over the 3 sessions. Each Member will take the same oath or affirmation.
Booking your tickets
If you'd like to attend any or all of the three sessions, you need to book your tickets from Visitors Services.
If you need a British Sign Language interpreter, please tell Visitor Services of the names and numbers of those requiring the service when you book. They will then reserve enough seats in order for you all to be able to see the interpreter and will make sure that the correct number of interpreters are booked.
You can also book tickets to see the afternoon's business, which will focus on the election of the Presiding Officers. This time is taken up with voting with no speeches being made.
