RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

In Scotland, we provide employment advice and training courses from centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Our employment advisers support deaf and hard of hearing people looking for employment or progression within employment.

The service also encourages employers to adopt positive attitudes and accessible working practices for deaf and hard of hearing people.

Opportunities for All 2

Our project, Opportunities for All 2, offers advice, guidance and training to 120 unemployed and economically inactive deaf and hard of hearing people living across Scotland. The project aims to get 52 people receiving training in subjects such as IT. We expect that 32 people will achieve qualifications, 20 people will receive support with the driving theory test and 25 people will gain work experience. We also hope that 30 people will gain employment as a direct result of the project.

The project is funded by the European Social Fund via the Scottish Executive.

IT for All

Our IT for All project provides support to 30 employed deaf and hard of hearing people who have basic IT skills. They will receive advice, guidance and training to help develop their skills and progress in their careers. We also work with employers to remove any barriers to keeping and developing deaf and hard of hearing staff.

The IT for All project is also funded by the European Social Fund via the Scottish Executive.
