RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

This event has now finished.

Morning session

‘Prince Darles and Lady Chi – how communication technology has evolved since the first subtitled royal wedding’

Background noise, text phones that don’t work and poorly designed websites can all make daily interaction and enjoyment of basic tasks like watching television a real trial. What is happening to improve access to communication technology – and what are we at RNID doing to help?

Afternoon session

‘Great expectations – empowering patients to demand the best from their audiology services’

Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions of an expert panel. Delegates will also hear a keynote speech from Edwina Hart AM, Minister for Health and Social Services. There are plenty of other issues to discuss:

  • What does quality mean?
  • What is a patient’s role in developing quality standards?
  • Is there more to good service than reduced waiting times?

These are some of the questions we’ve been asking, but we’d also like to hear yours. There will be an hour-long question time where you can put your questions directly to our panel of experts – your opportunity to gain practical advice and have a direct influence on policy makers.

Communication support and a Welsh translation will be provided.
