yes, you need see you gp to check for meniers and taking MRI for tumors.but do not worry about it in most cases it is norman.

I have tinnitus in one ear and also balance problems. If you also have balance problems, then I suggest you see your gp as it could be meniers, I didn't realise tinnitus in one ear could be a sign of meniers, I just thought it was normal.

Hi Sandra i have tinnitus in one ear too,i might heartinitus now and then in the other ear but not offen.mine is due to loss off hearing in one ear.

No, it,s not. No one knows why T happends, you just need to stop worrying and live life to the full.
You are only at the start of treatment, when you get a mri scan, maybe a year or so.
The ENT I went to, made me feel stupid, as did not find anything wrong, with me.
I asked my doctor, whats wrong with me, and he said, its not his department, and sent me to see another doctor, who was in a wheel chair, I was just so embarrest.
You did the proper thing with joining the RNID, as you will get all the answers you need, but remember everyone is different.

the answer is no, you can get it in both ears, like me, or be lucky and have it only in one ear.

i have tinitus just in my right ear which fluctuates in intensity but never gos away it came on suddenly 15 months ago and has never gone i have had brain scan which i am told is normal, i have been given no reason for what caused it i have had a hearing test and have been told i have lost 80% in that one ear only the other is normal? vanessa

I also have Tinnitus in just my left ear which increases and decreases in intensity is this fluctuation unusual?
