Hi there,
You are certainly having a bad time of it.
But I have not resorted to medications- despite feeling very depressed at times.
I do believe stress is the underlying factor which makes tinnitus much worse- I am actually having real bad time of it at the mo.
But:
Why am I writing?
I am sharing with you some more natural remedies I have tried these last few days... and it is actually 'improving' my lot.
1) Take a milky drink to bed.. mine fav is Horlicks. Works a treat!
2) Take a CD/Ipod and play your most fav gentle music very low.. to distract the tinnitus.

Hi Rob.
In yr situation you probably need direct advice more than anything.
So - heres one contribution anyway..
1. Distract yourself from it. Work out in yr day how and when you can create and engage distracting activities. Walking, sports talking socialising etc etc.
2. You should consider noise generating software, hardware to play in background to mask 'T'. Could use in headphones instead of protectors at work?
Theres a free one on the net - google, Aire freshener - or here for a good one. - http://www.vectormediasoftware.com/tinmaskerhome.htm
3. Speak to yr doctor soon about TRT therapy - considered to produce gd results by many.
4. My own method. I have moved my conscious mind with all my life files over to the left leaving 'T' away over there on its own. I work to reduce my emotional connection to it to zero. The worse; the harder I look the other way.
Hope something here helps. Dont get down thats what it feeds on!
