... I've got to say, pretty scared.
My hearing has deteriorated, but manageable with some pretty cool gadgets ... THEN, I started thinking I had something like Tinnitus developing a couple of months back. Up until now it has been fairly mild and ok to live with; just sounds like the distant noise of traffic on a motorway, with an underlying constant sharp pitch ... I started to do some research two days ago and now getting very worried about what’s going to develop and the permanence of it all; almost overnight, the noise seems to pierce into my consciousness, almost relentlessly. I guess after reading up on it, I’m now more aware of it but it is getting louder and I really need to learn to tune it out before it affect my work & home life … a bit naive I guess but, any suggestions please?

The best thing that you can do is to completely ignore those trange noises that you hear. Ignorance is bliss with tinnitus. I had mild T and embarked upon a quest for information that would put most audiology courses to shame. I now have severe tinnitus.

Hi Smudge- T best advice is simply not 2 concentrate on it. That's easier said then done when u first realise that there's a problem. But it becomes easier. I'm inspired by the guys who come back from Afghanistan with their legs blown off - you've just got to "get on with it"!!
