Hello Im Damien 23 from Birmingham. I have had Tinnitus since i was 16 (yr2000). I feel like i am the only young person with this condition as the only people who i have ever spoke to, who have the condition are 50+! Is there anyway of finding other young people with tinnitus? |

Yep, posting here is a pretty good way to find other young people with tinnitus! There are a lot, sadly.. |

Yeah am 23 as well with t. Mine has been present for 5+ months & have also xperienced it in my teens. Mine may have come from loud music or my anxiety or taking different medications or something else. |

I had t in my youth, mainly after going to gigs etc, but it always faded away, now I am 45 and have permanent t. The best advice I can give is don't hate it, try to learn to accept it as part of what makes you tick. It's a natural thing happening in your head, it's there in everyone but not everyone can hear it in normal conditions. If you ask any of your friends to go into a very quiet environment, such as a sound booth, they will hear noises in their head after a couple of minutes guaranteed. The difference is that when they come back into normal sound levels their brain will ignore the t sounds, unfortunately our brains have stopped ignoring it. |

Hey there mate. I have Tinnitus as well, and I am 23. I've had it since November 2007, so it hasn't been a full year yet. When I first got it, I thought normal life was over for me, but you know what, it's such a minor symptom that it's not worth stressing over it. It could be a lot worse, trust me. Look at all the accomplishments people with greater disabilities have made. It makes you wonder how strong a person can be, and it makes you a stronger person. |
