Have found this site interesting, sounds like lots of you guys suffer through being around loud noise. Went back to the docs this week for follow up appointment, appears she had a letter from the ENT chap who mentions TMJ, have also been to the dentist today for filling, and mentioned about the possible jaw problem as have pain around the base of the ears, can be really painful and sometime a shooting pain along the jaw, guess it all hinges on when I actualy get to have the MRI scan etc. Have been considering getting some white noise for night time as my hubby gets fed up with me clicking the cd player, bit of a problem as he likes the quiet. Am hoping it will one day just seem less of a problem (but for how long). Think I will have to accept it is hear ...... to stay.

I got a nature sounds machines and it annoyed the life of me, mainly because the "ocean waves" came with loud seagulls! You can get CDs of stuff like soft rain etc on ebay and play it on "repeat" but in my household what works is a tropical fish tank (same effect as indoor fountain), or the window open if it rains as my half is used to it by now.If things get louder I have a foldable bed which I put in earshot of the PC,central heating boiler, fridge, music or whatever i can hear in the quiet
