Does anyone know of or have heard of thyroid problems hyperthyroid in particular causing tinnitus?
i have had T for 10 weeks, at first i thought it was caused by the ibuprofen dosage i was taking. however the doctor had now diagnosed that i am hyperthyroid. the ENT specialist hinted but didnt commit himself that my T is because of metabolic disorder. has anyone else had t as a result of metabolic disorders, did it clear it when the meds were right and thyroid stable??? would appreciate any info. its been 4 weeks since i lowered my thyroid dose but still no sign of any change with t.
will keep everyone up to date if i have any positive news.

What sort of tinnitus are you experiencing?

I know when I told my doctor about pulsatile tinnitus one of the first things he did was feel my throat and get me to have a thyroid ultrasound (although it was all clear and I still dunno the cause).

And I've read a few comments online about people who have linked tinnitus to thyroid problems.

Hi Simone
thanks for your reply. My T is a high shrill together with a low hum. have just had blood tests done and apparently i am within normal range but i still feel all the hyper effects. i cant hear the pulse but i can feel it all over my head, on top of sinus areas behind ears and throat areas. the pressure in my head feels like i am being strangled. my next route is to keep cutting down on thyroxine and explore possiblility of sinus and venous hum? i am determined not to let doctors dismiss me and simply tell me to learn to live with it and put the radio on!
how long have you been suffering? have you ruled out any causes for your T?
