Do not try them without first consulting a qualified homeopath but this is something I am hoping to have a consultation for. |

Strangely enough, a pain killer I use called Voltarol helps me with my tinnitus as well as my arthiritus. But the weird thing is, is that it mentions tinnitus as a side effect. |

Well it work for me :P I try not to take them often but I just come back from a busy weekend away so was taking them regularly and the tinnitus was greatly reduced. Even when it was all quiet and was going to sleep. |

Hi there - first time on the board and a new member of the RNID. I had a pretty bad ear infection in April and pretty awful tinnitus. I've been using vinpocetene (periwinkle) for the last 4 weeks. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the tinnitus does seem a lot better. Instead of 'hell's choir', I seem to have a spoon rolling around a metal bowl (only way I can describe it). Basically, it's a lot better. I read about vinpocetene on a hearing loss forum on the web. Might be of use to somebody. You can get it in health food shops - not too expensive either, unlike gingko biloba. It's supposed to do much the same as gingko - increase the blood flow to the brain. |
