Out of interest does anyone have musical ear sydrome - my tinnitus has turned into musical sounds!!! Can itget any worse!
There must be a cure soon - please !

I've always had it. Your going to find that hearing phantom music is actually quite common for people with hearing loss and tinnitus. Most of us seem to get lush choirs and bells or other evocative sounds which seem to be dredged up from some distant auditory memory. The sounds can sometimes seem quite vivid. In some cases it may just be your mind making something interesting out of what is mostly featureless tinnitus.

It isn't anything you should worry about in the least. There was an experiment I heard of where where white noise was played to a group of people. They were also told a well-known tune was playing somewhere in amongst the white noise. There was no tune, of course but still 70 per cent of people were convinced they could hear it. It didn't mean they were all mad, it's just an exampple of the power of human imagination

Think yourself lucky! I think I would prefer to have music in my ears than a high pitched constant Eeeeeeeeeee ><

Mine is :

1. constant hissing sound which go up if the surrounding sound goes up

2. Then I also hear bells sounds

A cure is coming in a few years time (earliest is 2010 from the drug Nexamine) for some type of T but to us sufferers, we need to go by day after day ... sigh sigh ...

Hearing loss cure will take a bit longer but with the US Obama govt now allowing federal fund to be used for stem cell research, hopefully a cure from the US will be faster . But of course UK is also a formidable research house in this as Sheffield has for the 1st time created human hearing nerve

well i really hope somethng is found in new few years - it is awfulto be like this and i get so fed up with my life being like this. Bythe way has anyone heard of stenosis of external auditory ear canal - I have that so makes my tinnitus louder! Life sucks!
