Community Care grants from the Social Fund are "discretionary" awards that are intended to help disabled people live independently in the community. You do not automatically get them because you are disabled.

back to topIncome Support is a benefit for people aged between 16 and 59 who are on a low income and unable to work due to sickness, or because they are providing care for someone else.
back to topYou can claim income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance if you are capable of working, available for work or you are actively seeking work; and you are under 65 (for men) or under 60 (for women).
To claim, you must be not working, or working on average less than 16 hours a week. If you have a partner, the hours they work may affect how much money you can get.
back to topPension Credit is a benefit for people aged 60 or over who are on a low income. It has replaced the Minimum Income Guarantee.
back to topChild Tax Credit is for people who are responsible for at least one child or qualifying young person. How much you get depends on your total income over a tax year.
Working Tax Credit is for people on a low or middle income. The amount of tax credit you get will depend on what you earn each tax year.
