RNID owns and rents a number of different properties, some of which are owned in partnership with housing associations. We can provide purpose-built or specially adapted and renovated houses, bungalows and flats through our residential care and supported housing services.

back to topFollowing assessment we produce an individual care plan. This is reviewed regularly with the individual, family, advocates and social worker or care manager.
back to topAll of our staff go through an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) check before their employment begins.
back to topOur staff do a full range of training, including National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), with a special emphasis on communication and the particular needs of the service users.
back to topYes. They usually have one week a year, fully supported by staff.

back to topYes. We fully support the independence of our service users and feel this is a fundamental right.
back to topTo increase their independence we encourage service users to take part in the running of their home and in the decision-making. There is also a programme of activities including, where appropriate, further education, vocational opportunities and leisure pursuits.
