RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

We are committed to providing the highest standards of care for deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind people with additional needs.

Our statistics speak for themselves:

  • We have 58 services providing residential care, supported housing, outreach, community and specialist daycare.
  • We support over 330 service users.
  • We hold over 20 "Supporting People" contracts.
  • We have over 400 staff on our team.
  • We have an annual turnover of around £12million.

However there are times when we can achieve more by working with other organisations. So we develop partnerships to help us expand our services, where there are geographical reasons, or where there is a need for more specialist knowledge in a particular area. For example:

National Autistic Society

There is currently very little information or support available to families or professionals around deafness and autism. And as this is such a specialist area there is no dedicated organisation working to this. That is why we have joined forces with The National Autistic Society to present a conference on Deafness and Autism that will increase awareness and knowledge of the issues.

Birmingham University

We are funding a qualification that will support our specialist mental health care home. And the University of Birmingham are designing the course in Mental Health and Deafness that will lead to an accredited qualification.

Work in Partnership with us

If we can provide specialist knowledge, or if you have an unmet need in your area and would like to discuss a possible partnership, please send us an email to care.services@rnid.org.uk.
