RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

Barron Winnicott provides care and support for 10 deaf and deafblind adults aged 18 to 64 with additional needs such as learning difficulties, autism, or mental health or mobility problems. It provides an opportunity for individuals to increase their independence and daily living skills within a safe environment. This can make it a stepping-stone to independent living.

Support

We offer support based on the needs of each individual. This includes:

  • 24 hour staff cover, all year round
  • highly trained staff 
  • total communication environment
  • comprehensive individual support plans
  • regular review meetings
  • key workers for each service user.

Accommodation

Accommodation is on the second floor of a three storey building with lift access. There are two large flats providing communal living, and it is based in a complex of services in Twerton. There is access to day services, therapeutic facilities and sensory gardens. There are shops, a church and pubs nearby, and regular bus links to the centre of Bath.
