RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

Mulberry House provides a stepping-stone to independent living for six deaf and deafblind people aged 18 to 50 who have learning or physical disabilities and some low-level mental health problems. We aim to rehabilitate people who have lost skills and to rebuild their confidence, so that they can take their place back in the community.

Support

We offer support based on the needs of each individual. This includes:

  • 24 hour staff cover, all year round
  • highly trained staff
  • total communication environment
  • comprehensive individual support plans
  • regular review meetings
  • key workers for each service user.

Accommodation

This large detached house has been developed in association with Caldmore Housing Association and now provides six self-contained flats, one of which is entirely wheelchair accessible. There is a communal lounge, games room and garden. It is five minutes walk from Walsall town centre and is in the heart of a large and vibrant deaf community.
