RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

Tarragon Gardens is a national service offering intensive support for four deaf adults aged 18 to 65 who have significant enduring mental health problems and challenging behaviour. Our focus is on acquiring life skills, leading to integration into the local community and rehabilitation.

Support

We offer support based on the needs of each individual. This includes:

  • 24 hour, year round staff cover, with one-to-one or two-to-one support for each client
  • highly trained staff with specialist skills including mental health and physical intervention
  • total communication environment
  • comprehensive individual support plans
  • regular review meetings
  • key workers for each service user.

Accommodation

This purpose-built home has three wheelchair accessible rooms on the ground floor and a separate self-contained flat. There is also a communal lounge, kitchen and garden. It is close to local shops and pubs, and five minutes walk from a leisure complex with bowling and cinema. It is also on the bus route to a large shopping centre.
