Access to Work scheme

Jobcentre Plus runs a government-funded scheme called Access to Work. It provides support to disabled people and their employers to help overcome obstacles related to work.

As well as giving advice and information to disabled people and employers, Jobcentre Plus pays a grant, through Access to Work, towards any extra employment costs that result from a person’s disability.

To get on to the Access to Work scheme you will need to register with the disability employment adviser who is based at your local job centre and your needs will be assessed.
