Is this course for me?

  • wish to gain a more in-depth knowledge of interpreting
  • are considering enrolling on a Level 4 NVQ in Interpreting (BSL/English) programme
  • wish to become a BSL/English interpreter.

This programme will provide you with formal interpreter training which will give you the skills and knowledge to prepare you to undertake the Level 4 NVQ in Interpreting (BSL/English).

Experienced deaf and hearing tutors will teach the programme. You will be individually assessed at the information and selection sessions, and then the team of tutors will recommend modules to you to develop your skills and guide your learning.

The programme consists of 12 three-day modules covering a range of topics and skill sets. Each module will have both a theoretical and a practical element. It is anticipated that you will attend the majority of the modules.
