RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

RNID can provide a highly effective, flexible solution by using a set of modular services that work well with tailored services. Where appropriate we work closely with our RNID Products team to make sure that we are aware of the latest technologies and equipment.

Main areas of work

Our main areas of work include:

  • visiting people at home to assess their needs and provide equipment
  • providing information, training and support
  • community support projects
  • rehabilitation seminars for newly deafened people
  • telling users about the services offered by RNID and partnership organisations
  • working with care managers and other professionals to develop awareness of the needs of deaf and hard of hearing people.

Outreach service

We offer an outreach service for hearing aid users which provides:

  • technical help
  • support, guidance and links to local groups and services
  • supplying and fitting of new batteries, tubing and elbows
  • advice and training on general maintenance and fitting.
