RNID believes that working in partnership with others can often achieve higher levels of service for deaf and hard of hearing people.
RNID is the largest charity representing the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK.
Hence we are ideally placed to lead the development and implementation of a national volunteer programme for hearing aid and rehabilitation support.
We run a number of programmes on behalf of the Department of Health, including Modernising NHS Hearing Aid Services, which is improving the quality of audiology services. We also run the Hearing Direct Pilot and the public private partnership programme to deliver NHS hearing aids via high street dispensers.
We are committed to delivering effective services in line with our contracts, yet respecting the needs of our service users. As part of our operational policy we have set up a number of procedures and checks to manage our work:
We have established formal partnerships with complementary sensory service providers including the RNIB (external link, opens new browser window).
We also work closely with British Red Cross (external link, opens new browser window), Deafblind UK (external link, opens new browser window) and Age Concern (external link, opens new browser window).
For more information about working in partnership with us, please contact us through one of our Resource Centres, via the RNID Information Line or use our enquiry form.
