If you want to claim benefits, or challenge benefits decisions, we can help you with information, advice and support.
It can be difficult to work out which benefits you can claim and when you are eligible. We have put together a series of benefits factsheets and a list of frequently asked questions about benefits. Benefits information is also available in BSL.
We can give you advice if you have been refused a welfare benefit, and support you if you want to challenge a refusal to award a benefit yourself. We have a factsheet that can tell you more about challenging decisions on Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance.
We can also represent you at a Social Security Appeals Tribunal, although we can only do this in some cases because of the high demand for our service. Alternatively, if an advice worker is helping you with an appeal or representing you at a tribunal we can give them advice and support.
There are times when you should seek information and advice from other organisations, and so we may refer you to another advice agency, such as a Citizens Advice Bureau. We can always help you find useful organisations that give welfare benefits advice.
If you want to find out more about how we can help you contact our Legal Casework Service.
