Product development and research
We believe deaf and hard of hearing consumers need more choice and better information to allow them to buy the products most suited to their requirements. Through comprehensive product reviews, championing more inclusive design and feeding users requirements back to manufacturers, choice and quality are starting to improve.
HearCom
We are working with HearCom, a research project that aims to make sure that people with a hearing loss can communicate more effectively.
User needs survey
In 2002 over 10,000 deaf and hard of hearing people responded to our survey on everyday life. You can read the results of this survey and find out how we have used it to guide our work.
Standards
RNID works with other organisations to produce standards for products for deaf and hard of hearing people. Find out more about the work that we do, including how we have helped set the standards for safe smoke alarms.
