RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

Background

A survey was sent to all RNID members in Spring of 2002. It was designed to enable us to learn more about the everyday difficulties and challenges faced by deaf and hard of hearing people. There was a massive response to the survey: 10,376 people completed and returned it.

How we use the data

There are many ways in which we can use the information gathered in this survey. It has already been used to guide product development and research project work. And as it provides recent data about day to day living with a hearing loss, and on areas of life where problems are most commonly faced, we have given it to the Campaigns team to help them in their work.

We will continue to use this data, and will make sure that how we use it has a positive impact on the quality of life of deaf and hard of hearing people.
