RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

The scheme is open to any innovative idea that will fulfil the goal of strengthening the hearing research field. The grant will be offered twice a year.

Summary of grant

  • Next application deadline: 6 September 2010 (5pm GMT)
  • Value of award: Applications for smaller sums of money are encouraged within this scheme. Individual requests of up to a maximum of £5,000 will be considered. In exceptional circumstances, and only with our permission prior to submission, applications up to £10,000 may be considered.
  • Eligibility: Applicants may be from a university, research institute or SME in any country.

Selection procedure

Proposals are peer-reviewed if necessary, and the most suitable projects are then selected for funding by RNID. The purpose of the grant is the support of smaller-scale activities. Therefore, small applications of up to £5,000 are encouraged. Applications requesting up to £10,000 will only be awarded in exceptional circumstances and permission must be sought prior to application. Applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible, usually within a month of the application deadline.
