  • Duration: up to three years.
  • Eligibility: applicants may be from any country.
  • Value: up to £50,000 per year, although it may be exceeded for exceptional projects.

Selection procedure

All applications are sent to three external referees in the field who are asked to rate the scientific value and feasibility of the project. These reviews and the original proposals are then considered by members of our Medical Research Review Panel. The panel discuss and rate each proposal. The top proposals are then put forward to RNID for funding.

Each year, we are able to fund 10% to 20% of the applications received. Applicants are notified of the outcome as soon as possible following the final decision. Feedback is given upon request.
