RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

This grant scheme will allow undergraduates to take part in hearing, deafness and tinnitus research during the summer, introducing them to this exciting field of work and encouraging them to consider it for their future careers.

  • Application deadline for 2011: to be announced in early 2011
  • Duration: Up to 8 weeks
  • Value: £200 a week towards student living expenses
  • Eligibility: students and supervisors must be based at recognised UK universities or research institutes

Applications will have to be submitted by the proposed supervisor.

Selection procedure

Applications will be peer-reviewed if necessary and the most suitable projects selected by RNID. Up to ten studentships will be awarded each year. We will notify successful supervisors as soon as possible, usually within 2 to 3 weeks of the application deadline.
Students who successfully gain a place will be required to submit a short report. We will judge these reports and award a prize to the student with the best report.
