Physiological basis of progressive hearing loss
This is a three-year project led by Dr Walter Marcotti at the University of Sheffield. It will finish in January 2012.
Channels that protect hair cells from noise
This is a three-year project led by Dr Gregory Frolenkov at the University of Kentucky. It will finish in October 2011.
Biology of progressive hearing loss
This is a three-year project at University College London led by Professor Forge. It is due to be completed in December 2010.
Adenosine and protection against noise-induced hearing loss
This is a three year project at the University of Auckland led by Dr Vlajkovic, Dr Thorne and Dr Housley. It is due to be completed in May 2009.
Identification of genes for noise-induced hearing loss
This is a three year project at University of Antwerp and led by Professor Van Camp, Professor Van de Heyning and Dr Van Laer. It is due to be completed December 2008.
Hair cell survival genes
This is a three year project at University College London led by Dr Dawson and Dr Gale. It is due to be completed in September 2008.
The genetics of human age-related hearing loss
This was a three-year project completed in July 2008 at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. It was run by Dr Everett, Mr Axon and Dr Reid.
Inflammatory responses
This was a three-year project completed in September 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and led by Dr Hirose.
Identification of genes responsible for age-related hearing impairment
This was a three-year project completed in March 2005 at the University of Antwerp, Belgium and led by Professor Van Camp.
Protective strategies
This was a three-year project completed in October 2004 at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm and led by Professor Barbara Canlon.
