Your story could motivate, educate and inspire others which will help us connect with the public and communicate the work of RNID. You don't have to be an expert in deafness or hearing loss - you just need to be an expert in your own personal story.

Here are some of the things you might get a chance to do:

  • Talk to your local or national media (newspapers, radio, TV and magazines)
  • Appear in an RNID website, leaflet, report or mailing
  • Speak in person to RNID staff, volunteers, potential supporters and politicians

Read the stories from people who have been affected by our Don't Lose The Music campaign (external link).

Read the personal experiences of people who have been affected by our hearing check.  (external link)

It's up to you how much you do

You may want to do just one thing or you might be keen to get involved in lots of areas. Either way, sharing your story will have a big impact.

We will contact you if we receive a request that you could help with. You can always say no to a request.

We also understand that your circumstances may change and that over time you might wish to become more or less involved. So, stay in touch and keep us up to date.

What are you waiting for?

If you would like the chance to give people a real idea of the effects of deafness, hearing loss or tinnitus email mediarelations.team@rnid.org.uk and someone will be in touch.
