Fundraising in schools is a great way to get everyone together for a different reason. Not only can people feel like they're supporting a charity - some events can even be educational.

Tips on fundraising at school

Here are just a few ideas but if you can think of more please get in touch.

Sponsored silence – ask people to sponsor you to not speak for a day.

Fingerspelling competition – raise money for every letter you learn.

Sign language day – raise sponsorship to sign for a day.

Lipreading day – raise sponsorship to lipread for a period of time.

Play charades – ask players to donate to play.

Organise a deaf awareness talk – ask for donations from people that attend.

Readathon – aim to read a number of books and ask for sponsorship.

Spellathon – use your spelling skills to raise sponsorship.

Bake sale - make your own cakes or biscuits and sell them to raise money.

Quiz – ask teams to make a small donation to enter.

Fashion show/charity show – sell tickets to raise money.

Disco, fete or bazaar – sell tickets to raise money.

Mile of pennies – bring pennies to school, make a mile of pennies and then donate them.

Fancy dress party/competition – charge a small fee to enter the competition.

Non-uniform day – pay to get out of school uniform for the day.

Challenge your teachers - get sponsored to take on your teachers at an event/activity.

Helping hand – ask for a small donation in return of a job.

Karaoke competition – ask for a small donation to enter.

Carol Concerts – be festive and raise money through holding a concert.
