Everyone we work with really appreciates your support, especially as deafness is a disability that often goes unnoticed. This page explains just some of the ways RNID uses your money to help make a real difference to deaf and hard of hearing people.
We are the largest charity working for the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. Our vision is of a world where deafness and hearing loss are not barriers to opportunity and fulfilment.
There are three key elements to our work:
We campaign and lobby in parliament, and raise awareness of deafness and hearing loss in the media and among health professionals and the general public. The areas we campaign in include hearing tests, hearing aids, noise at work and subtitling.

We provide a range of direct services for deaf and hard of hearing people. Our services include sign language interpreters, communication training, employment services, and residential and community services for deaf and deafblind people with additional needs. We also have a helpline providing information on all aspects of deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus.

We carry out and support research in areas such as education for deaf children, employment, digital hearing aids and mobile communications. And we evaluate new technology for deaf and hard of hearing people.
