Legacies are a vital source of income for us and account for 59% of our voluntary income.

Without the generosity of these very special people we could not provide services and support for the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK today.

The needs of the people we represent vary enormously and so does the work we do to support them. It includes:

  • Providing support and guidance through our information line on the best services and equipment for those who are deaf or heard of hearing.
  • Providing a dedicated tinnitus helpline to give the best possible support to those who live with this condition.
  • Campaigning to raise awareness of deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss.
  • Providing support services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing and who have additional needs.
  • Funding medical and biological research to improve the lives of the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK today.
  • Funding research into technology development to ensure deaf and hard of hearing people have the best possible equipment to maximise their potential in life.
