Simply choose the way in which you’d like to give, and use the following wording when making your legacy.

Leaving a share of your estate to RNID (residuary bequest)

"I give all (or a ...% share of) the residue of my estate to The Royal National Institute for Deaf People (Registered Charity No. 207720), 19-23 Featherstone Street, London EC1Y 8SL, for its general charitable purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer, or duly authorised officer, shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge."

Leaving a fixed sum of money to RNID (pecuniary bequest)

"I give to The Royal National Institute for Deaf People (Registered Charity No. 207720), 19-23 Featherstone Street, London EC1Y 8SL, the sum of (amount in figures and words) to be used for its general charitable purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer, or duly authorised officer, shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge."

Making an addition to your existing will

If you want to add a gift to RNID to your existing will, the easiest way may be to draw up a codicil (an additional legal instruction or amendment).

Our suggested wording for each type of gift is:

"I (full name) of (address) declare this to be a (first/second/third etc) codicil to my will dated (date in words). In addition to any legacies given in my said will, I give to The Royal National Institute for Deaf People (Registered Charity No. 207720), 19-23 Featherstone Street, London EC1Y 8SL, to be used for its general charitable purposes..."

To leave a share of your estate
"...all (or a ...% share of) the residue of my estate."

To leave a set sum of money
"...the sum of (amount in figures and words)."

"I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer, or duly authorised officer, shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge. In all other respects, I confirm my said will and other codicils thereto. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand this (date in words).

Signed by the said……………………….as a codicil to his/her last will in the presence of us who are at his/her request in his/her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness."
