Young deaf people are four times more likely to be unemployed than hearing people, even if that hearing person has a criminal record.

One of our success stories is Yasmin.Yasmin is 22 and profoundly deaf, and training to become a hairdresser. She needed to get some work experience to complement her training. RNID helped her to arrange work experience at Vidal Sassoon and provided a sign language interpreter.

Yasmin told us: "I am really grateful for the communication support RNID provided for me. I was able to show my true potential. I had an opportunity to learn new skills and build my confidence."
