RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

The careers service can support you at any time when you are at university.

What sort of things can the careers service do?

  • Advise you about how to find paid work while you are studying.
  • Advise you about how to find voluntary work or work placements.
  • Advise you if you are thinking about leaving your course. You can discuss why you are not happy, other course options or what your options are if you leave university.
  • Tell you about your options when you have completed your course.

Many university students have very little experience of applying for jobs. The careers service can help you understand your strengths, skills, qualities and how to make the most of these when you are applying for jobs. They can also give practical advice about interviews.

The careers service will have a library of resources you can use. There will usually be staff that can help you find the information you are looking for.
