RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

The support available may be different at each university. The types of support that may be available could be:

  • extra time for coursework
  • extra time for examinations
  • a notetaker or communication support worker present at the beginning of exams
  • exam papers put into plain English
  • equipment such as a loop system.

Any special assessment or examination arrangements will need to be discussed with your disability support or guidance team at the university. This should be done as soon as you start your course, so preparations for your support can be made.
