RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

When you first meet an RNID employment adviser, it will be a relaxed and general chat about our service and how we can support you in your current employment or in your search for other employment.

An RNID client and employment adviser discuss possible jobs

After an advice and guidance session your employment adviser will help you draw up an action plan. Your employment adviser may work in partnership with another organisation, company or project if this is what you need.

This is a free service.

During your meeting you can expect the employment adviser to:

  • Provide communication in your preferred mode of communication such as BSL, SSE, electronic notetaking, or lipreading.
  • Hold your meetings in a pleasant environment and for the meeting to be one-to-one.
  • Ensure complete confidentiality.
  • Confirm a date for your next meeting if required.

After meeting an adviser you are not under any obligation to use the service again. If you would like to do so, you will be actively encouraged to commit to job-search activities.
