The PPP is a national scheme in England designed to increase the workforce delivering the NHS hearing aid service - and so reduce waiting times for hearing aids.
Selected private hearing aid dispensers have been contracted to help deliver the NHS service to adults. They are fully trained in the new NHS procedures and work in partnership with local NHS services.
If the scheme is operating in your area, you may be given the choice of going to the audiology clinic or to a PPP contracted dispenser for your NHS hearing aids.
Wherever you choose to get your hearing aids from, you will get the same digital hearing aids, fitted in the same way and with the same standard of service – all free of charge.
The dispenser's premises may be in a more convenient location for you. However, the NHS continues to be responsible for your hearing care.
