Both the Nokia and the Geemarc neckloops did well in our tests and were popular choices with our volunteers.
The Nokia has a call answer button and no other controls, and is particularly easy to use. But you can only use this neckloop with Nokia phones that have a ‘Pop-port’ connector, which does limit the choice of mobile phones it can be used with.
The Geemarc has a volume control, but is not as easy to use as the nokia neckloop and it needs batteries to work.
If you don't want as many cables and don't mind paying a bit extra, then Bluetooth neckloops may be worth looking at.
It’s important to try out neckloops before buying. Many neckloops are only available by mail order, but most suppliers will let you return them if they aren’t right for you (conditions may apply). Some of our volunteers found that even though one neckloop didn’t work for them, another one did so it’s a good idea to try different models.
