RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 is an Act of Parliament that aims to stop discrimination against people with disabilities.

The DDA:

  • Aims to ensure that people with disabilities have equal access to employment and education opportunities and to goods, services and facilities.
  • Seeks to make sure that public transport is accessible to disabled people.

Under the DDA, people with disabilities have specific enforceable rights and employers, service providers and education providers have specific duties.
