A boy born almost deaf and with no ears has had his hearing restored by doctors and been given a pair of prosthetic ears. Surgeons were able to insert one bone-anchored hearing aid into his skull, bypassing the blocked ear canal, enabling him to hear properly for the first time.

A Wills from Ruislip, Middlesex, writes in to say that although the new Noise at Work Regulations have come into force, this won't apply in churches. He states that according to RNID, studies show that loud music damages the ears and that they are campaigning for music levels to be kept within reasonable limits. He says that churches should keep an eye on this.
