Test your ears

The RNID's telephone hearing check is included in a feature which tests how old your body is. In the 'test your ears' section, you can discover the age of your inner ear by standing on one leg with the other at a balanced 45 degree angle. Place your hands on your hips and close your eyes and time how long it takes for you to lose your balance.

Hearing the good news

A new ‘hearing instrument’ made by Siemans called The Pure, was launched at the beginning of June and promises the technology which not only is the eighth the size of a conventional hearing aid and prevents whistling, but can connect, through Bluetooth, with your mobile phone, your MP3 player, TV, Hi-Fi, computer and any other Bluetooth enabled technology. The technology promises to revolutionise the lives of millions of people with a hearing loss.

Creature Discomforts to take on disability

Six new characters are being used for the Leonard Cheshire Disability charity's six-week Creature Discomforts campaign, which launches next Wednesday and will appear in adverts on ITV, Creature Discomforts (external link, opens new browser window) and at bus stops over the summer.
