Mapping the individual - cheaply

By 2015, babies might have their complete DNA read at birth, as the cost of sequencing plunge. This article explores the implications for individuals and for society. Also included in this feature is the case study of James Watson who, according to genetics, could have been born with Usher's syndrome, a condition which causes deafness and blindness.
