RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

The English Premiership club is urging people to sign up for one of RNID's guaranteed places at the world's biggest half marathon, which takes place on Sunday 5 October 2008. The places are available on a first-come, first-served basis to prospective fundraisers who pay a £38 registration fee before the 17 July 2008 deadline and raise a minimum of £300.

Director of rugby, Steve Bates, says: "Newcastle Falcons wishes RNID all the best with its participation in the Great North Run. People running for RNID will have a fantastic experience and make long-lasting friendships, whilst raising funds for an excellent cause."

Newcastle Falcons winger, John Rudd, says: "Get in the running for a RNID Great North Run place and you can make a powerful contribution to changing the world for deaf and hard of hearing people!"

Money raised by fundraisers pounding the 13-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields will help fund RNID projects and services that improve the everyday lives of deaf and hard of hearing people.
