RNID: For deaf and hard of hearing people.

RNID’s Board has co-opted Stephen Thomas, the Chief Executive of the UK’s leading late-night licensed entertainment operators Luminar plc; Stephen Hill, former Chief Executive of the Financial Times and current Channel 4 Board member, and Sir Rodney Brooke, who recently retired as Chair of the General Social Care Council. Stephen Hill is taking on the role of treasurer and will also chair RNID’s audit committee.

The charity’s UK-wide membership also elected Ashley De Safrin, a small business advisor with Business Link, whilst Professor Norman Black was elected by RNID’s Northern Irish membership and will chair RNID’s Northern Ireland Advisory Group.

RNID Chief Executive, Jackie Ballard, says: "We’re pleased to announce the arrival of our new trustees, who are bringing a wealth of experience and a robust portfolio of commercial and financial skills, as well as public sector, social care and academic expertise, to help RNID rise to the challenges we’ll face in the next three years."

The new trustees are joining for an initial term of three years and replace Peter Cruttenden, Colin Gowdy and Malcolm McAlpine.
