RNID is pleased to present its new smoke alarm system, designed exclusively for deaf and hard of hearing people.  It incorporates the latest thinking in fire security for people with a hearing loss and is the result of extensive design, development and user consultation.  The first smoke alarm system for which is compliant with new British Standard BS5446-3:2005.

The main base unit is placed by the bed and a vibrating pad is placed under the pillow.  Once the smoke detectors are installed and detect a fire, the system is activated, the strong strobe light flashes on the base (excellent for day and night time alerting) and the powerful under pillow pad vibrates to wake the heaviest sleeper.

This smoke alarm system is extremely flexible and can be extended to suit the requirements of your accommodation, with the capacity to add up to nine additional detectors.

This system is supplied with an ionisation smoke detector.
